No. 12 Watson's Bay
Just inside the South Head of the iconic Sydney Harbour, this beach is not directly open to the ocean. This is a heavily used tourist area, with restaurants and multi-million dollar houses along the promenade. The tideline was littered with cigarette butts, bottle tops, fishing line, drinks bottles, packaging, drinking straws and micro plastics . There was also quite a lot of expanded polystyrene (EPS) from packaging. We are aware that the Sydney Harbour authorities go to considerable effort to try to maintain a clean environment for all users, but clearly they have a challenge on their hands.
