No. 4 The Quarries Bay
This is an east facing beach, in the relatively sheltered Little Taylor's Bay on the west side of South Bruny Island. The bay is very shallow, creating an ideal home for both mussels and oysters. The beach was also covered with lots of shell fragments. A relatively clean beach, but still the odd plastic bag and some rope. The sandstone in this area was once quarried and was the source of sandstone for building the post office in Melbourne.
