No. 24 Tangalooma Beach
This beach lies on the west side of Moreton Island facing west into Moreton Bay. The beach is many kilometres long, but we only had time to take a look at a small 100m section opposite the Tangalooma wrecks and adjacent to the popular Tangalooma resort. The resort provides many activities on the beach, which is well used and is probably kept clean by the resort. However, there was still plenty of plastic debris along the tideline and immediately behind the beach. Interestingly there seemed to be a lot of bottle tops but very few plastic bottles. Maybe the bottles were getting cleaned up or placed in the rubbish bins which were on the beach. Other items included pens, lighters and balloons. A familiar story.
