No. 26 Digby Island Beach
Digby Island is part of the Beverley group of islands in the Great Barrier Reef National Park. This beach is on the north side of Digby island and is mainly sand at the west end and turns to boulders at the east end. Much of the debris was high up on the beach amongst boulders and scrub. A lot of the debris was also very weathered and had a tendency to disintegrate when touched. The island is uninhabited but the beach is frequented by cruising yachts which anchor in the bay overnight. The debris was collected and data input to the Australian Marine Debris Initiative database.
